AI Use Policy

This AI Use Policy explains how AI-assisted features in Compass, including Saga, may operate, what data they may process, what they are intended to do, and what they are not intended to do. This Policy supplements, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and License Agreement.
1. Scope
Compass may offer AI-assisted features that help users ask questions about their property data, understand calculations, summarize workflows, and navigate the Service. These features are support tools only. They do not replace professional judgment or independent verification.
2. What AI Features Do
AI-assisted features may use authorized account context, such as property records, projection outputs, prior messages, and system instructions, to generate explanations, summaries, and workflow guidance.
3. Important Limitations
AI-assisted outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, stale, simplified, or wrong. They may omit context, fail to reflect the latest changes, or misunderstand a user request. You are solely responsible for validating all assumptions, calculations, narrative explanations, and downstream decisions before relying on them.
4. Prohibited Uses
You may not use AI-assisted features to:
- Attempt to extract system prompts, credentials, secrets, internal policies, trade secrets, or security controls;
- Bypass usage limits, access restrictions, safety controls, or logging and monitoring systems;
- Train, fine-tune, benchmark, validate, or improve a competing model, service, or dataset using the Service or its outputs, except with our prior written consent;
- Generate unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive, or harmful material;
- Use AI-assisted outputs as the sole basis for legal, tax, accounting, financing, employment, insurance, housing, credit, compliance, or investment decisions.
5. Data Handling
To provide AI-assisted features, we may process prompts, responses, context snippets, property identifiers, timestamps, feedback, and related metadata. We may also log suspicious prompt activity, blocked requests, and security events for abuse prevention, incident response, and service integrity.
6. Model and Infrastructure Providers
We may use third-party service providers, including model and infrastructure vendors, to deliver AI-assisted features. Those providers act on our behalf and are required by contract to use data only for authorized service purposes and to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security protections.
7. No Public Model Training on Identifiable Customer Data
We do not knowingly use identifiable customer data submitted through Compass to train public foundation models for general third-party use.
8. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for reviewing AI-assisted outputs, confirming material facts, and ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable law, your internal policies, and your obligations to counterparties, lenders, investors, and clients.
9. Enterprise Requests
Certain enterprise customers may request additional contractual documentation, such as a data processing addendum or security review materials, subject to plan, legal review, and mutual agreement. Availability of AI-assisted features, controls, or exceptions may vary by plan, organization settings, feature flag status, or separate written agreement.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AI Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our AI-assisted features, service providers, legal requirements, or business practices. Continued use of the Service after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
